5 March 2024 – The European Commission today announced the “preliminary” results of the two ongoing anti-circumvention proceedings against cold rolled stainless steel from Indonesia via Taiwan, Turkey and Vietnam. An official announcement of the results is expected in the coming weeks.
Breaking News: EC announces preliminary results
According to insider information available to us, cold-rolled stainless steel imports from Taiwan and Vietnam will be subject to an anti-dumping duty of 19.3% in future. No anti-dumping duty should be levied against Turkey. Countervailing duties of 20.5% should be levied against Taiwan, Vietnam and Turkey in future. Some companies concerned should also be granted exemptions.
The anit-dumping and countervailing duties have not yet been finalised and may change again before they are officially announced.

Both anti-circumvention investigations have led to great resentment towards the Commission. Not only because the investigations were disproportionate and unfounded, but also because there were serious administrative failures in the proceedings.
