25 October 2024 – We followed with great interest the debate ‘Tackling the steel crisis: boosting competitive and sustainable European steel and maintaining quality jobs’ in the EU Parliament on 23 October 2024. We were struck by the statements made by some Members of the European Parliament about an alleged steel crisis, which we cannot leave uncommented – as they often seem to come directly from the PR machine and the whispers of the European steel lobby.

17 January 2024 – The fact that the European Commission’s anti-circumvention proceedings against stainless steel imports from Taiwan, Turkey and Vietnam originating in Indonesia are on shaky ground and have been brought under questionable accusations is certainly nothing new to most people. But, as with previous reviews, rumours are circulating that the Safeguard measure could be lifted because conditions have changed. But can the EU suspend Safeguard just like that?
