17 March 2025 – Stainless steel relevant raw material prices continue to rise. At least one Vietnamese steel maker appears to have escaped the excessive demands of domestic steel mills in the ongoing EU anti-dumping case against hot rolled coil.

Are Vietnamese steel makers escaping EU anti-dumping duties?
Once again it is clear that not all the ridiculous demands of the European steel lobby EUROFER can be implemented by the Commission.
According to recent media reports, Vietnamese hot rolled coil, which is one of EUROFER’s main targets in the current anti-dumping investigations (Japan, Egypt, India, Vietnam), seems to have escaped the market protection mania of the EU steel mills and the European Commission in at least one case. At least this is the unanimous opinion of several Vietnamese media.
Even in the recently published preliminary results of the review of the EU Safeguard Measure on certain steel products, EUROFER was unable to prevail with many of its clearly exaggerated demands.
