According to market sources, Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco) and Tang Eng Iron Works Co, Ltd, both leading stainless steel mills in Taiwan, have announced their new prices for January 2021.

Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco), a leading stainless steel mill in Taiwan, announced its new prices for January 2021 (Dec 30).
Prices for 304, 430 and 316L
According to the price adjustment, domestic prices for 304 hot-rolled and cold-rolled were increased by NT$5,500/ton and for 430 hot-rolled and cold-rolled by NT$4,000/ton. The surcharge for 316L was increased by NT$1,000/ton.
The export price was raised in a range of US$200-250/ton, depending on regions and customers, and prices for 400 series were raised by US$150/ton.
Yusco said that not all increases in production costs for alloy raw materials and steel scrap were fully taken into account. This moderate adjustment was made with downstream competitiveness in mind.
Prices of Tang Eng Iron Works Co, Ltd.
Tang Eng Iron Works Co., Ltd. one of the major stainless steel producers in Taiwan, announced (Dec. 31) to increase its new stainless steel prices for January 2021, following already Yieh United Steel Corp. (Yusco), another major Taiwanese stainless steel producer.
Prices for 304 and 316L
According to Tang Eng’s price announcement, the domestic price for 304 cold-rolled and hot-rolled stainless steel has been increased by NT$5,500/ton, and the premium for 316L has been raised by NT$1,000/ton. The export price for 304 cold-rolled and hot-rolled stainless steel was increased by NT$200/ton.
Based on the price increase announced by both Yusco and Tang Eng, market participants expected stainless steel prices to move firmly in the market.
