KARACHI, Dec 16: Chairman National Business Group of FPCCI, President Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum and All Karachi Industrial Alliance and former provincial minister Mian Zahid Hussain on Wednesday said that rising metal prices in international market are hitting construction and other industries. That is why all tariffs on importing metals should be lifted.

Taxes and duties on steel, iron, copper and aluminum should be waived to support the construction package introduced to boost economic activities, Mian Zahid Hussain further said.
Rising metal prices on key commodities
Mian Zahid Hussain said that the pandemic has increased the prices of iron, steel, copper, brass, aluminum, rubber and many other things. Everything related to the production of steel, electronics, refrigerators, air conditioners, car parts, cables, wires, pipes, tires and hoses, fans and motors and rubber parts, etc.
Price of steel bars has increased
Speaking to the business community, the veteran business leader said that the price of steel bars has increased by 6000 rupees per ton within a week. While the price of wires and cables and aluminum is also constantly increasing, affecting construction activities.
