Nickel prices rose 0.51 percent to RS 1,335.80 per kg in futures trading Monday as speculators added new positions on rising demand from alloy producers in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel contracts for February delivery rose Rs 6.80, or 0.51 percent, to RS 1,335.80 per kg on a business turnover of 2,097 lots.
The increase in demand in the spot market from alloy producers mainly supported the rise in nickel futures prices, analysts said.
