In Europe, Ferrosilicon suppliers will target €1,600 per ton in the coming weeks after the market reached €1,550 ($1,828) per ton on Friday, March 26, for the first time since April 2018, in a resumption of a longer-term uptrend since last August when prices were as low as €860 per ton, sources said to metalbulletin.com.

Ferrosilicon producers almost sold out for April and June 2021

Producers of Ferrosilicon are almost all sold out for deliveries between April and June, offering alloys near the current price peak, with one producer reporting a deal for 100 tons of standard grade at €1,500 per ton on an fca (free on truck) basis, Fastmarkets was told.

Supply concerns – no material is offered by traditional exporters to Europe

Supply concerns are cementing bullish market sentiment as no material is offered by traditional exporters to Europe, such as Brazil, Ukraine and Malaysia, until May at the earliest, either due to limited production and/or firm domestic/regional demand, sources said.
