
EUROMETAL latest report on steel deliveries
According to the latest report by the Association of European Steel and Metal Distributors EUROMETAL, steel deliveries by European Flat Steel Service Centers (SSCs) to end customer segments in the period January-October this year fell by 14 percent year-on-year. In October, deliveries of rolled mill products increased by 3.3% year-on-year, whereas in September they had increased by 4.7% year-on-year.
Expressed in number of delivery days, the inventories of EU-based SSCs reached 88 days in October this year, compared to 110 days in October 2019.
Stockholding Traders lowered almost all products in portfolio
In the first ten months of this year, sales by stockholding traders of multi-product and short-rolled steel were lower for almost all products in their portfolio. In the period January-October, total deliveries fell by 11.0 percent year-on-year. In October alone, all steel product deliveries by distributors were down 2.3 percent year-on-year, with only the rolled mill products (hot rolled flat products, cold rolled flat products, galvanized and other coated flat products) showing a positive trend.
Expressed in number of delivery days, the inventories of stockholding distributors of multi-product and short-rolled steel amounted to 66 delivery days in October this year, compared with 71 delivery days in October 2019.
