Since 2020, there has been an increasingly severe shortage of steel and stainless steel in Europe and the United States. And there is still no relief for the threatened steel processing industry.

Serious steel and stainless steel shortages in Europe
Since fall 2020, there has been an ever widening shortage of steel and stainless steel products in the European Union and the United States. We have reported on this several times in recent months.
Now even the last industry media and experts seem to have recognized that there is a serious problem here in Europe. And even the first steel producers are admitting that the shortage of steel and stainless steel in the EU will continue into 2022.
This significantly threatens the recovery of the European manufacturing industry.
No official Safeguard decision yet
Contrary to the European Commission’s previous practice, no announcement on the future of the EU Safeguard measures was made yesterday, Friday, June 4, 2021.
Who benefits from such a delay?
The reasons for this can, of course, only be purely speculative when viewed from the outside. Are the Europeans still waiting for the visit of US President Biden and its outcome? Or why is the announcement of a long since made decision still delayed?
