The Philippine nickel industry is predicted to have a strong year in 2021 as demand from abroad is expected to improve despite the 2019 corona virus pandemic (COVID-19).

Rising nickel consumption expected to continue
Philippine Nickel Industry Association President Dante R. Bravo said the group is optimistic that rising nickel consumption will continue due to demand from the infrastructure and home appliance sectors, as well as the electric vehicle industry.

Indonesian mining industry employs 190,000 people
“The mining industry has continued to employ 190,000 people across the country and this is very important, especially as the Philippine government seeks to implement economic recovery efforts from the effects of the pandemic,” he said in a statement Thursday.
