ArcelorMittal late last week began notifying its customers of a new price increase for the sale of EU long products – wire rod, rebar and beams, sources told Kallanish.

EU Long price increases apply to all new orders
The long price increase will apply to all new orders as of Friday last week and will be implemented by the group’s sales team. Bids will increase by €30-45/ton ($36-54), depending on the market and product.
Demand has recovered – further price increases possible
A source close to ArcelorMittal notes that sentiment and demand in Northern and Eastern Europe have recovered after a short-lived period of uncertainty. Further increases could be envisaged in the coming weeks, he adds.
